Born in Mexico City, with more than 20 years of boxing experience starting from an early age, Mauricio "El Guty" Ferraez has trained with the best trainers and fighters of the time. For example, Mauricio trained with Marco Antonio Barrera Tapia, Felipe "Furia" Fuentes, and Rodolfo "El Gato" Gonzales.
Mauricio was a champion in tournaments such as the "Golden Gloves" and the "Delegational and Mexico City Champion". As an amateur, with an undefeated record of 63 wins and 1 tie with the International Boxing Federation World Champion, Jorge La Sierva, Mauricio was very successful. As a professional and trainer, he had a record of 22-2-2, with 10 "knock outs". Mauricio learned much about the sport.
Now, Mauricio offers his students the opportunity to discover the "Old School" boxing secrets, learned from the legendary trainer, Leonardo "El Guerro" Garcia, with whom Mauricio trained in Mexico City. In our class room at the gym, Mauricio will provide novice students with basic boxing skills and training regimens. He also will show his more advanced students more intricate skills, such as proper head and foot movement. Once students reach a certain level, Mauricio can take his students to another gym with a ring to practice actual sparring.
Mauricio works only by appointment. He teaches both private and group lessons. He is an independent-contractor, not employed by Iron Bodies Gym. He works only for his students.
